Elegant Sunday Brunch, Lavender Farm Tour, Shopping, Honey & Lemonade Tasting, Afternoon Tea!
We have such an interesting and educational day planned for you.
We start off the day with a brunch in a every elegant restaurant that was a schoolhouse in the 1870's and has been converted into a restaurant. Every room in the building has been restored as much as possible to its original condition and harks back to the elegant times of a bygone era. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II dined here in 1997. So you will be dining in the same establishment and eating the same food that was served to royalty. I mean... how cool is that!
After our very elegant brunch, we then proceed for an educational trip to a lavender farm for a guided tour of the farm and the greenhouses.
We also get to visit the bees in the apiary and then, just for our group, the farm will be offering a special tasting of lavender infused honey and lavender lemonade. You also have an opportunity to shop in the extensive store for all things to do with lavender. You are not going to believe all the things that can be made with lavender!
After our farm tour, we then proceed to the very elegant and quaint village of Dundas, Ontario to spend some time browsing their main street called King St. In particular, check out the very famous cheese shop and the fine foods emporium.
Finally, after a couple of hours of browsing along King St. we head to a local establishment for some afternoon tea and munchies. All in all, a lovely day in the country.

Elegant Sunday Brunch with Live Piano Entertainment
Our first stop is the Olde School Restaurant in Brantford for a very elegant Sunday brunch.
The brunch a large buffet selection, an omelet station for freshly cooked omelets and live piano entertainment.
As mentioned above, HM Queen Elizabeth II dined here in 1997 on her visit to Canada and if the restaurant is good enough for her, then I'm sure it's good enough for us!
Weir's Lane Lavender Farm
After our brunch we now head to the lavender farm to walk off those calories.
At the farm we get a guided tour of the lavender fields, visit the beehives in the apiary, get a very educational talk on lavender plants and bees, and then head to the greenhouse where we get to do some tasting of lavender infused honey and lemonade. And then we get to do some shopping for some products that quite frankly you are never going to find anywhere else. Here's a link to the store page of the Weir's Lane website to give you an idea of the types of products that they sell. Weirs Lane Store, click here.
King St., Dundas, Ontario
We now proceed just a few minutes up the road to the small town of Dundas with it's quaint stores.
In particular, if you have any interest in cheese or fine foods, two of the more famous stores in the Hamilton area are here in Dundas. You may wish to bring a cooler if you intend to buy any dairy or meat products, there is lots of room on the bus to store your cooler.
Afternoon Tea & Munchies
And finally, after having spent two hours browsing the stores, it's only appropriate that we sit down for an afternoon tea (or coffee!) and some munchies.
So we will board the bus and travel to the adjacent town of Ancaster, Ontario, to have afternoon tea/coffee in our own private room at a turn of the century pub. For those so inclined, of course the full bar service will be available.
Our food service will include tea/coffee, sandwiches, fruit and assorted sweet squares.
And finally, after our tea, we board the bus a final time to return home.
Departure & Return Times
We leave Toronto on Sunday morning at approximately 9:30 AM. Actual pickup times vary by stop and will be sent out in the final email to all registered attendees, 2 days before the trip.
We return to Toronto at approximately 8:30 PM on Sunday night.
