Before this venture, he inhabited a small wooden house that still stands in Boston as a historical landmark. Being the oldest building in downtown Boston, Revere's great grandson purchased the building to protect it from being demolished. Bunker Hill Monument: This 221ft tall monument commemorates the Battle of Bunker Hill as it was built atop the field where combat ensued.
