Tour Highlights
Buffalo
Our local guide will take us through Buffalo to explore and learn about some of America’s greatest architects and show us some of their master pieces!
Around the start of the 20th century, Buffalo was a fast growing city with a prosperous economy and it became the eighth largest city in America. The wealth of the city and its growth enabled the city’s businesses, organizations, and citizens to hire some of the nation’s most prominent architects and use the finest materials available. Visit some of these amazing structures that resulted from this economic boom that are still present. |
Albright-Knox Art Gallery
For more than 150 years, the Albright-Knox has collected, conserved, and exhibited the art of its time, possessing one of the world’s most extraordinary collections of modern and contemporary art.
Their collections include exceptional works by Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Pierre-Auguste Renoir & Claude Monet just to name a few. Their art collection won't be the only thing for you to marvel at, the Greek Revival design of the building that houses this art collection will be something to marvel at equally! |
Hamlin House
We will enjoy a delicious lunch in the Hamlin House, located in the circa 1865 Italianate style building at 432 Franklin Street.
This classic master piece was one of the many properties owned by Cicero J. Hamlin, the wealthiest man in Buffalo at the time. It has been owned and occupied by various owners since and is now used as a restaurant & banquet facility as well as an active VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post. The Hamlin House today is considered one of Allentown’s best kept secrets! |
