Our day begins at Laveanne Lavender Farm, where rows of fragrant lavender sway gently in the summer breeze. Enjoy a guided tour of the farm and learn about the cultivation and many uses of this beautiful plant before sampling lavender-inspired treats, including buttery lavender shortbread cookies and refreshing lavender lemonade. Next, we'll visit picturesque Elmhirst Resort on Rice Lake for a buffet lunch. After lunch enjoy some free time to stroll the landscaped waterfront grounds, relax beside the lake, or simply settle into an Adirondack chair and take in the peaceful surroundings. It's the kind of place that encourages you to slow down and simply enjoy the day. Our final stop is charming Fifth Wind Farm, where proprietor Johanna will introduce us to the fascinating world of medicinal herbs. Learn about the traditional uses and health benefits of herbal teas and discover how she creates natural creams and herbal salves using plants grown on the farm. You'll also enjoy sampling a variety of flavourful herbal teas while hearing stories of nature's time-honoured remedies. Filled with beautiful scenery, delicious flavours, peaceful lakeside views, and memorable conversations with passionate local producers, this relaxing countryside escape offers a refreshing return to a gentler pace of life. Come breathe deeply, savour every moment, and enjoy a day that will leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed, and wonderfully connected to the simple joys of the countryside. We will be stopping at a highway rest area for a morning break and again for an evening break on our return to Toronto.
