Please note! Due to the large variety of foods on this tour regrettably we are not able to accommodate vegan and gluten-free diets! Vegetarians can be accommodated but there will be some limitations on what you will be able to have at the fondue dinner and hors d'oeuvres overload lunch.
Bring your healthy appetite, loose fitting clothing and your sense of adventure for this two-day foodie escape from Toronto to Gatineau, Quebec. The tour is a delicious experience designed to tempt your taste buds from start to finish. From savoury hors d’oeuvres to bubbling fondue and silky afternoon tea, every bite tells a story of comfort, creativity, and culinary joy. This is the perfect getaway for those who believe travel should be tasted as much as seen.

Our first stop takes us to a charming country inn tucked away in Cornwall, where lunch is a feast of flavour-packed finger foods. Think a continuous parade of chilled tiger shrimp, mushroom caps with florentine stuffing, seared steak bites in lettuce cups, smoked salmon bites, fresh fruit platter with yoghurt dip and more, all served in a cozy setting. With trays of hors d’oeuvres arriving fresh from the kitchen, you’ll graze your way through lunch in the most indulgent way possible.

After checking into our hotel in Gatineau we will trek out to a true showstopper: a fondue dinner at a rustic chalet-style restaurant that brings the cuisine of the Swiss Alps to Quebec. Surrounded by scents of melted broths and cheese, you’ll dip crisp vegetables, artisan bread, and tender meats into bubbling pots of fondue. And for dessert? Chocolate fondue of course!

On day two, we head to a celebrated local dairy that’s been crafting award-winning cheeses for over a century. You’ll explore the behind-the-scenes magic of cheese-making before diving into a tasting that celebrates everything from bold aged cheddars to famously squeaky curds. Their market is a food lover’s paradise—perfect for picking up gourmet goodies and gifts.

We wrap up our tasty 2-day tour with an elegant afternoon tea at a serene hillside retreat. Sip fragrant teas while enjoying buttery scones, delicate sandwiches, and pastries almost too pretty to eat. It’s a peaceful and delicious finale to a whirlwind of flavour, fun, and foodie discovery.

  • $99 deposit required to reserve your seats. Deposit is fully refundable if you cancel for any reason by Sat April 19, 2025 or if the tour does not get sufficient bookings and is cancelled by ShortTrips.ca.
  • Full payment is due April 19, 2025, sorry, no refunds after that date. Reminder emails will be sent a few days before the due date. 
  • You can transfer your seat on this tour to anyone else you know, up to the time of departure without penalty. 
  • Trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended. Insurance can be purchased online from CAA or TD Insurance or RBC Insurance or Manulife.

Travelling With Children

  • Children 10+ are welcome on this tour. Price is the same as adults.
