Day 2: Tuesday June 17
Start your day with a guided tour that unveils the charm and history of Lake Placid. Begin with a scenic drive along the Whiteface Memorial Highway, winding slowly up the mountain to take in breathtaking views. At the summit, a unique elevator carved inside the mountain will take you to the top for panoramic vistas. Along the way, your guide shares fascinating stories as you pass landmarks like Mirror Lake. We’ll visit the Olympic Jumping Complex, where you’ll take a gondola ride and glass-fronted elevator to the top of the 128-meter ski jump tower. Sorry but actually doing a ski-jump is not included in the tour!
The adventure continues with stops at the Olympic Cauldron and horse show grounds, site of the 1980 Games' opening and closing ceremonies. Afterward, we’ll return to downtown Lake Placid, where you’ll have free time to grab lunch on your own at the many dining options in town.
Next, you will explore the Olympic Center, home to the historic 1932 and 1980 ice hockey rinks, where the famous "Miracle on Ice" took place. Fans of the Disney movie Miracle will especially love seeing the history brought to life here. The evening is yours to explore and enjoy dinner at one of Lake Placid’s many local restaurants, rounding out a day full of stunning views, rich Olympic history, and unforgettable moments.

Explore the center’s engaging exhibits and meander through its scenic Trail System or its Wild Walk that will climb to the full-sized bald eagle’s nest at the highest point. A bagged lunch is provided, allowing you to savor your meal as you soak in the natural beauty surrounding you.
Before crossing back into Canada, we’ll make a stop at Duty-Free for some last-minute shopping. As the tour concludes, we hope you take home not only souvenirs but also wonderful memories of the Adirondack’s stunning landscapes, rich history, and unforgettable experiences shared along the way.
