Step aboard for a powerful one-day journey tracing the footsteps of Harriet Tubman and the brave freedom seekers who followed the Underground Railroad to Canada.

Departing from Toronto, our first stop is in St. Catharines at the Salem Chapel BME Church—where Harriet Tubman herself worshipped and helped newly arrived refugees start new lives in freedom. With a local historian guiding us through downtown St. Catharines and the Niagara region, we’ll explore historic sites, hear untold stories of courage and hope, and visit landmarks connected to Canada’s role in the abolition movement.

The journey continues through Chippawa and along the scenic Niagara River Parkway, passing places where freedom was gained—and sometimes nearly taken back. You’ll witness the site where Tubman crossed into Canada, learn about Black military heroes who defended their new home, and visit one of Ontario’s oldest Black cemeteries.

This tour is both solemn and inspiring—a moving tribute to the strength, faith, and determination of those who found refuge in Canada and changed our nation’s story forever.

  • ​Children 10+ are welcome on this tour although some material may not be suitable for younger audiences. Same price as adults.
