Purple Hill Canadian Opry! Live Country Music, Food & Fun

Kick up your boots and get ready for a toe-tapping Sunday getaway as we roll out of Toronto and head for the heart of country music fun at the Purple Hill Country Opry located in Thorndale, about 2½ hours west of Toronto near London, Ontario.

Along the way, we’ll make a stop at a highway travel plaza where you can grab lunch on your own before the main event. We arrive at the Opry around 2:00 PM, just in time for the barn doors to swing open and the music to take centre stage. Set inside their lively country music barn, the vibe is casual, welcoming, and buzzing with energy.

From arrival, enjoy about three straight hours of live country music, Opry-style, with a rotating lineup of performers keeping the tunes—and the smiles—coming. If country music is new to you, this is the perfect introduction: upbeat, approachable, and all about enjoying the moment. There are no fussy concert hall rules here—wander around, tap your feet, clap along, try a dance step, or step outside to explore the farm before drifting back in when the next song hooks you.

After the music wraps up, you will enjoy a hearty, down-home comfort food dinner served buffet style at 5:00. Very lively music, good food, and an easygoing come-and-go vibe make this a fabulous feel-good country experience you’ll be humming about all the way home.
