Buffalo AKG Art Museum
The Buffalo AKG Art Museum (formerly the Albright-Knox Art Gallery) is one of the oldest museums dedicated to the art of our time, and the sixth-oldest public art institution in the United States. It was founded in December 1862 as the Buffalo Fine Arts Academy with former President Millard Fillmore among its incorporators. Throughout its evolution to the Albright Art Gallery, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, and now the Buffalo AKG, our museum has been led by a series of talented and dedicated directors whose combined influence has given rise to an extraordinary collection of modern and contemporary art.
Step into the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, where the walls are like gossiping confidantes sharing the juiciest stories of creativity. This cultural hub in Buffalo is not your grandma's art museum – it's a lively circus of imagination, where paintings flirt with your curiosity, and sculptures throw a party of elegance. As you traipse through the halls, you'll find more drama than a Shakespearean play, with each artwork whispering, "Guess what happened when the artist picked up the brush?"

Frank Lloyd Wright
Frank Lloyd Wright was an American architect, interior designer, writer, and educator, who designed more than 1,000 structures and completed 532. Wright was recognized in 1991 by the American Institute of Architects as "the greatest American architect of all time". Wright was a leader of the Prairie School movement of architecture and his work includes original and innovative examples of many building types, including offices, churches, schools, skyscrapers, hotels, and museums.
Darwin D Martin Complex
Arguably one of the best works by America’s greatest architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. Even Wright himself said this about the Martin House: "the most perfect thing of its kind in the world - a domestic symphony," and referred to it as "the opus" some 50 years after it was built.
For those who have ever harboured curiosity about the inner sanctums of homes conceived by this globally renowned architect, this presents an unmissable opportunity. As hailed by The Globe & Mail newspaper, the Martin House is deemed "Worth the drive to Buffalo," affirming that there is no better moment than the present to witness its splendor firsthand. |
