Ithaca, NY
Ithaca is known as the city of gorges and waterfalls. There are over 150 waterfalls within 10 square miles. that flow across the town, funneling water through gorges carved out thousands of years ago. By glaciers, they tell us. The most famous of these is Taughannock Falls. We will be visiting Taughannock Falls as well as a couple of the others -- nature's marvels for us to enjoy. And a perfect photo opportunity.
Also included on our guided tour of Ithaca will be a trip through the Cornell University campus.
Please note that the waterfalls tour in Ithaca is not walker or wheelchair friendly. Those with mobility issues will regrettably not be able to experience these stops fully.

Seneca Lake Sunset Cruise
A visit to Seneca Lake is not complete without a 1.5 hour sunset cruise board Captain Bill's 270 passenger Seneca Legacy vessel located at the southern end of Seneca Lake, one of the larger finger lakes.
Deer Haven Park
Deer Haven Park occupies a portion of the former Seneca Army Depot, a US Military munitions storage facility built in 1941. For over 75 years, the Seneca Army Depot was closed to the public. It's now been reopened as an animal refuge and offers a glimpse into its mysterious past and a chance to see the unique wildlife that resides within its fences, from wild turkeys, beavers, and American Bald Eagles to the Majestic Seneca white deer!
Owing to their entrapment by the fencing when the depot was built in 1941, the herd has been inbreeding for nearly 70 years. The trait has manifested itself to such an extent that today there are an estimated 200–300 white deer in the total herd of about 700. |
