The forecast for the Grand Bend area for Friday Aug 26, 2022 during the time of our visit is excellent for a beach trip. The forecast calls for mainly sunny skies, a high of 22C with a humidex of 25C. This tour is proceeding as scheduled! 
Grand Bend beach is listed as one of Canada's best beaches. There are only 23 beaches in Canada to have received the coveted Blue Flag status for their commitment to strict water quality and safety and this is one of those with 25 miles of white sands and crystal clear waters. You are invited to bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy on the beach or purchase something to eat from the many restaurants and cafes along Main Street, just a short walk away.

For those who don't wish to spend 4½ hours at the beach, in the afternoon we will be visiting Westland Greenhouses, one of the largest greenhouses in the Lake Huron area. We'll get a private tour of their 3 acres of indoor gardens and of course you will have an opportunity to shop for interesting and unusual items and also get your gardening questions answered. This side trip is completely optional and there is no extra charge.

​Westland Greenhouses

This is an optional afternoon trip to one of the largest greenhouses in the Lake Huron area. There is no extra charge for this side trip.

We will get a guided tour through the greenhouses and you will have the chance to wander through 3 acres of plants and flowers. Westland carry a big selection of tropical indoor plants. cacti, succulents, ferns,  all kinds of blooming plants, pots, insecticides, perennials and grasses. If you have ever wanted to pick up that one special plant and needed to speak to an expert, this is the place to do it!
