  • Huckleberry Island has uneven rocky terrain and getting on and off the boat requires a firm footing. This tour is definitely not suitable for those with mobility issues.
We will travel on our deluxe bus from Toronto to Parry Sound, about 2.5 hours north of Toronto. Then our bus group we will board our privately chartered 40-passenger Zodiac boat called the Islander. We then get a 45 minute boat ride to Huckleberry Island, one of the most beautiful islands in the area, where you will get off the boat, stroll over the rocks and explore the shoreline and the island. This is a private island and not open to the public! 
A Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve naturalist will accompany our trip and will lead a guided hike for approximately 30 minutes while we are on the island. The guide will also be available to answer any questions.

The granite-sculpted shorelines of the islands, exposed by the glaciers at the end of the last ice age, and the windswept white pine forests that adorn the islands, create numerous distinct habitats that support a variety of both well-known and rare species including plants, mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. The uniqueness of the island ecosystem earned the area World Biosphere Reserve status from the United Nations in 2004.

There is a secluded and shallow beach area on the island so bring your swimsuit if you feel like a quick dip in Georgian Bay! You will be on shore for just over 1 hour before we depart the island and head through the popular “Hole in the Wall” back to to Parry Sound. ​
