Itinerary
Day 1 - Thu July 11
Fly to Iceland.
Day 2 - Fri July 12 - Reykjavik & The Blue Lagoon
Bus will pick you up at the airport and transport you to the fabulous Hilton Reykjavik Nordica hotel in downtown Reykjavik. Check in and have a nap. Then you start with a city tour of Reykjavik including entrance and a visit to the world famous Hallgrímskirkja church, the iconic building in Reykjavik. Optional Blue Lagoon visit in the evening. Dinner on your own, numerous dining options at both the Blue Lagoon or within walking distance of the hotel.
Day 3 - Sat July 13 - The Golden Circle Route: Thingvellir National Park, Geysir and Strokkur, Gullfoss, Kerio
Checkout and meet your tour guide. Start on the famous Golden Circle Route with a drive to Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site, and where the Althingi, the oldest legislative assembly in the world was founded. Thingvellir is also remarkable because it lies in a Rift Valley that marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge & the boundary between the North American & Eurasian Tectonic Plates.
Exploring the hot springs at Geysir is like watching a geography lesson in real life: natural springs bubbling away in the ground until the pressure becomes too much – and they explode in spectacular style. Geysir and Strokkur are the two biggest of the geysers there. Strokkur still spouts every 5 to 15 minutes. Next travel to Gullfoss, "the golden falls", which is a double waterfall that tumbles 34 meters into the Hvítá river. The explosion crater called Kerið is filled with water and resembles an ancient amphitheatre. The day ends with a visit to the Lava Centre.

Day 4 - Sun July 14 - Vatnajökull National Park & Glacier Lagoon
A long drive brings us to a world of canyons, glaciers, ice and icebergs. We travel to Fjaðrárgljúfur, a canyon up to 100 m deep and about 2 kilometres long, with the Fjaðrá river flowing through it. The canyon has steep walls and winding water. Its origins dates back to the cold periods of the Ice Age, about two million years ago.
Then we move on to the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon filled with floating icebergs. We explore this extraordinary site and perhaps see some seals swimming in the arctic waters. You can walk on the black sandy beach where large icebergs get stranded. The Vatnajökull National Park is about 12,000 square kilometers and it is the largest National Park in Europe. In this area we find Iceland's highest mountains, an alpine environment and Europe's largest glacier.
After a day of adventure and exploring the beautiful landscapes Iceland has to offer, we check into our remote hotel with amazing views and enjoy a delicious Lagoustine dinner.

Day 5 - Monday July 15 - Reynisfjara, Skogafoss, Seljalandsfoss
Today, we head across the Laki lava field to the village of Vík where we make a photo stop. We take a stroll on the black lava beach and along the bird cliffs at Reynisfjara beach in South Iceland. We pass the glacier Mýrdalsjökull and the infamous volcano Eyjafjallajökull and continue to Skógafoss waterfall which is 60 meters high and belongs to the most impressive waterfalls in the country.
Further west we reach the high but narrow Seljalandsfoss waterfall which plunges over the mountain. There's a trail that goes behind the fall which is interesting – if you are prepared to get wet! After the day's touring, we circle back to Reykjavik and the Hilton Nordica for our final night.
Late in the evening, we depart the hotel for the Reykjavik dock to board our private chartered cruise boat. Prepare to have a unique other-worldly "Midnight Sun" experience as you cruise the sea looking out for whales while the sun barely dips below the distant horizon before rising again a short while later.

Day 6 - Tuesday July 16 - National Museum, Airport
Today we check out of our hotel. Not to worry though, the tour isn’t over just yet! We still have the National Museum of Iceland to visit before we start our journey home-bound.
For those with a departure time around 3-4 PM, your airport transfer will take place after our visit at the National Museum. For those with a later departure time around 5-6 PM, you will have the opportunity to explore downtown Reykjavik a final time and enjoy a lunch on your own before your airport transfer.
On this day we say farewell to new friends we’ve made, but not to the memories that will remain with us for a lifetime!
