This 90 minute narrated cruise will highlight the unique sights and heritage of the 1000 Islands region and the historic waterfront of Canada's First Capital. The cruise passes close to National Park Islands and National Historic Sites, and includes a lively narration of Kingston's history and natural setting.
The focus of this cruise is on the history and waterfront of the city of Kingston, and its place at the beginning of the St Lawrence River and the 1000 Islands region. Highlights include the westerly Islands local to Kingston's harbour as well as Fort Henry, shipwrecks, classical architecture, Canada's Royal Military College and the imposing Kingston Penitentiary. |
The Big Apple
On our way back from Kingston, we stop for dinner at the Big Apple.
In addition to an extensive menu, you also get a chance to shop for some delicious apple pies, apple bread, apple crumble, apple chips... well, you get the idea. They also have an extensive wine tasting and tea/coffee counter. And if you feel energetic, you can always climb to the observation deck at the top of the big apple to get a bird's eye view of the area. Cost of dinner is not included in the tour price.
