Empire Cheese & Dairy Co-Operative
If you like cheese, you're going to love this stop on our day trip.
Empire cheese will have samples of their award winning cheeses ready and waiting for us to do some tasting and then you can shop away in their retail store. And not just for cheese either, they carry all kinds of artisanal and local food products. Did we mention they also sell delicious ice cream too? No calorie counting today please! |
Casteel's Greenhouses
Our final stop for the day will be Casteel's hydroponic greenhouses also known as the "home of the perfect tomato". They grow over 9,000 tomato plants and produce about 300,000 pounds of great tasting tomatoes each year.
Not only are they known for their tomatoes but also for their Casteel's Craft Caesar Mix. They tell us it blends beautifully with vodka for a classic Bloody Caesar, or just on it's own over ice. Cheers! |
