Enjoy two different escorted nature walks in the heart of Northumberland County. Local tour guide, Peter Brotherhood, will provide accompanying narration and point out key features. 

Start your day with a gentle stroll through the Nawautin Nature Sanctuary, observing a wide variety of wild life, a small covered bridge, several ponds and a natural, waterfront park with a pebbly-beach on Lake Ontario. Understand the crucial role that this sanctuary plays in the environment. 

​Our next stop will be for a picnic lunch will be at beautiful Victoria Park in Cobourg, right on the shores of Lake Ontario. This will be your opportunity to enjoy your own packed lunch. You may also wish to walk the Boardwalk, see the yachts at the Yacht Club and enjoy a small flower garden called the Eco Garden.

After lunch, we travel to the Carstair’s Universal Trail for a hike on the gently graded paths, again stopping at some of the 40 interpretative signs that describe rare trees in Ontario. There are plenty of benches to rest upon here.

  • Your can transfer your seat to anyone else you know, up to the time of departure. without penalty.

  • Children 10+ are welcome on this tour. Price is the same as adults.
