Today you will be visiting Petroglyphs Provincial Park, a hallowed sanctuary adorned with the most extensive collection of Indigenous rock carvings in Canada. More than a millennium ago, Algonquian-speaking societies, wanderers of the vast Canadian Shield, bestowed this sacred ground with profound significance, now revered as The Teaching Rocks. Experience this venue with the guidance of a knowledgeable tour guide as they unveil the ancient tapestry of the site's history.

After our visit to the Teaching Rocks you will also have an opportunity to visit The Learning Place Visitor Centre, where the vibrant traditions of the Ojibway (Anishnaabe) people unfold through the wisdom embedded in the medicine wheel.

And finally after the visit to The Teaching Rocks and the welcome centre you will have free time to enjoy one of the hiking trails at the provincial park.

Also included in the tour is a visit to the Peterborough Heritage Museum & Archives, where a short guided tour awaits. Enjoy a boxed lunch in the picnic pavilion, right next door to the museum. The boxed lunch is included as part of this tour package.
