Pinery Provincial Park Hiking Trip on shores of Lake Huron. Picnic boxed lunch included!

For outdoor and nature lovers we have a great day planned for you on this one day trip from the Toronto area. Ontario’s southwest is often overlooked for hiking and nature trips. While crowds of people flock to Algonquin Provincial Park there are many other places elsewhere in the province that showcase the beauty of Ontario’s outdoors and Pinery Provincial Park, located on the shores of Lake Huron is one of them.

Start with some time to enjoy your picnic lunch at the picnic pavilion which we have reserved for our bus group. A delicious boxed lunch is included with the tour price. After lunch everyone gets a chance to have a guided leisurely walk on the Riverside Trail escorted with a park naturalist from Ontario Parks. This trail is rated as easy. Stop at the seating areas and platforms to view wildlife or simply enjoy a rest.

After the easy hike, for those who are interested in a more advanced hike, you get an opportunity to hike the Carolinian Trail. The difficulty level is rated as moderate with hilly terrain and stairs. The trail has a good change in elevation and also has a lookout over Oxbow pond. This will also be a guided hike escorted by a park naturalist and the trail allows the group to gather in spots where the guide will point out some of the other interesting features of the park.

For those who prefer to relax and skip the more advanced hike, you will ride the bus back to the visitor centre or the picnic pavilion where you can sit and relax or take a walk down to the shoreline and enjoy walking along the beach.
