We didn't know what to call this trip? Canine Capers? Dog Days of Autumn? Either way, it's an interesting and educational trip where you will learn all about wolves at the Wolf Centre, interact with Siberian Huskies at the dog kennels, get a demonstration of dog sleds, learn about Haliburton forest and visit the logging museum. Phew!

Start with a presentation over lunch about the Haliburton Forest. Then visit the dog kennels to snuggle with the incredibly friendly Siberian huskies. The kennel staff will bring you right into the kennel, where you can get up close and personal with the energetic pooches. After some time with the four-legged friends, you'll have a smile glued to your face and a lightness in your heart.

You will also visit the Wolf Centre, a 5,000 square foot, all indoor facility. Start with a presentation by Wolf Centre staff and then observe wolves from two viewing areas, explore interpretative displays, watch a documentary in the theatre, and visit the gift shop. Staff are on hand to interpret and answer the questions.

​Note: The wolves are wild and have not had any human contact and thus the wolves can only viewed through one-way glass from inside the building. Sorry but wolf sightings are not guaranteed, that's up to the wolves but we hope to catch a glimpse of the wolf pack, permanent residents of Haliburton Forest since 1993.

Appetizer: Salad. Fresh greens, with apple, cucumber, shredded cheese and dried cranberries.

Main Course: (You will select 1 of the following)
  • Roast beef panini: Layers of roast beef smothered in melted double cheddar cheese with Ocala Horsey sauce.
  • Chicken panini: Roasted Chicken smothered with melted mozzarella cheese, red onion, tomato, basil leaves. 
  • Vegetarian sandwich: Baby Leaf Spinach nestled in a bed of melted Brie with sliced Ocala apples on a toasted ciabatta bun.
  • Mac & Cheese: Who doesn’t love Mac & Cheese. No scrimping on the cheese in this fan favourite. Ocala adds a special touch with the addition of bacon & apples.

Dessert: Apple crisp.
